Shinya Shokudo- edited

Dongwan blogged about this JDrama series. Very nice, I'm watching it bit by bit and digesting all the little details, and also the recipes. Very nice watch! About a little 'restaurant' that opens from midnight till morning, and all the characters with their stories in it. I've taken quite a liking to the 'master' of the Shokudo... probably because he looks a bit like my ex-boss :)

Shinya Shokudo! - The 10-ep Drama (about 25 min each ep) that makes me feel nostalgic and hungry at the same time.Love the last part where they give helpful tips to cook dishes featured in each ep!

Also got to watch 'The Big Bang Theory' this afternoon. Have to admit, it really is funny. I'll watch it as soon as I finish Shinya Shokudo. Or I'll just buy the dvd and keep it for a long time then watch it all when I'm finally free from books and papers :)

Which is er... maybe never? :P

Working tml yo! UK exhibition! Busy bee! Sleeping!

Shinya Shokudo's OST (and other songs by the same singer) dl link here.

现在的孩子不相信 月亮有小白兔

Xian zai de hai zi bu xiang xin, yue liang you xiao bai tu

功课与电脑 使他们不再信古老的神话

当高楼大厦 遮挡了古老的月亮
Dang gao lou da xiao, zhe dang le gu lao de yue liang

就趁这个季节 让你的孩子知道
Jiu chen zhe ge ji jie, rang ni de hai zi zhi dao

古老的神话 原自何方

****

A song about how the Mooncake Festival's (Mid-Autumn Festival) ancient stories and legends are being forgotten by kids who are always preoccupied with computers and homework nowadays. And how the moon is being obstructed by tall buildings in big cities.

In a way, it is also signalling the advancement of people/human since the olden days (when people will believe anything!)

Tonight's the festival. I'll be home alone, possibly.
Cause I don't feel like joining the festivities at my aunt's house
It's getting old to avoid playing lanterns and candles with little kids
I just say: I'm busy

A lot of things coming up.
The beach party, emails to people, swapping postcards, my group assignment(S), my job (thank god it's almost done!), meal dates, trip to the bank, etc etc

It's a good thing to have things to do, there's no time to think of anything else :)

Oh, I had a dream about Barack Obama, and I don't even follow politics!

Sien

Ugh, can die just waiting for my lecture notes to be dl-ed
Why does it not work??!! Shyt shyt shyt shyt shyt

Bright idea!
Fwd it to my own email and voila!
Should have thought of this earlier, sulks.

Fyi, my lecturers love creating email accounts at Yahoo/Gmail
And upload the notes for us there.
Hmm.. where's the Financial Management notes? *CHONG!!!~~~~

Tons of work to complete. Group discussions to attend, group projects to finish
Can't believe up till now I can't remember which grp is which... cause everyone is like just going around almost the same?

Time to gear up and get started for a busy month!
I can already smell my coffee brewing (I can't sleep after consuming coffee... mhhmm coffee works wonders for me)

It's still there

My lone fish lives! After I threw out the plants and gave it a whole tankful of water to itself. Ok la, plastic tankful.

The feed is kinda weird, anyway, but it's not dying. So I'll investigate on for the next 2 days and see if it dies from the food.

Olympics! No need to elaborate. The whole world knows about it. I'm excited. Can't contain my excitement. Until I played Cooking Dash for 8 straight hours just to complete the Story Mode. Eyes puffy from lack of sleep, but I'm still excited. My sis can't wait to see the Table Tennis matches, I'll just stick with can't wait to watch everything. Reminds me of the Ping Pong thingy Chonggie mentioned last night.

I'm hard at work now. (Yes, that's what I'm doing, boss, in case you ever come across this blog) Took a break just now to surf for unimportant items.
Some interesting ones.

This thing can fool thieves and help you keep your valuables safe. Cool!

And this, this random comic is funny. Scroll your mouse over the comic to see reason behind the weird dialogue. Wish I had this kind of help when I was doing QA or QM. Whichever, I can only remember that I learned the Poisson Distribution somewhere...

So little time, so much to do.

I love my salary, but then books and libraries are enticing too.
Missing Tw's book stores. Now that's nerd heaven :P

It's weird seeing how quickly youngsters grow up. My twin cousins are already 9! I can still remember visiting them in those boxes when they were still babies- they were there due to having blue skin or something. Anyway, they're cute. But I'd place my bet on them being spoiled brats with an attitude by the time they're 16.

Eating out today was, different. B$ 6 malay style buffet somewhere around Kiulap. I've never went into that area before. So weird to discover that almost every restaurant in that area offers buffet-style meal. , Meal was nice, more importantly, there was this bea-o-tiful waitress who hail from China. Nice girl that. I loved the sambal ulaman.

Won't it be nice now to take a trip down somewhere unknown.?

One more week gone! Is it now hmm.. week 27 of the year? I'm not that sure, only took a glimpse of the astoundingly huge piece of monthly calender sticking on the wall.

This month has got to be one of the 'best' month my stomach has ever known.

Lunches this week (and dinner!) are mostly made up of super fattening and 'luxurious' food. For me la, who knows some people eat abalone (balls) everyday ha?

One day I had instant microwaved mee, another, ayamku. And I think a meal to Jenny's beef noodle house. Kinda forgot what I had for either wednesday or thursday. Yesterday was a trip to Charcoals for the set lunch thingy, which is very efficiently posted up by a colleague in her blog- Food-hungry. I had the steak rice thingy.

Then today was lunch at Fusions. My first time there leh, thanks to Lina for the treat!! What I had was lamb something. Chong took pictures, she might post them up someday hah.

Somehow, people I dine with will take pictures of the food. The food feels like its 'checked' or 'processed' before being put in the mouth. It's interesting how this becomes almost a norm isn't it? Not that I'm complaining. You can still process my food, dear chong and food-hungry.

Then I'll continue to remember the various meals for this month, 4 times Excapade, once Caper's, some chicken rice, twice Four seasons rest, twice Thai food in Lemon grass, once McD, once curry fish head in Gdg, some more ayamku meals, and the takeaway Ideal lunch, not to mention all the ice creams I bought, and all the biscuits and snacks I had during office hours. Oh, and that Fetuccine Carbonara my colleague made one day too.

Not going to mention my meals in Miri (one of them had this fried fattening layers of pork, what's it called? Anyhow, it was MOST delicious)

No wonder my clothes are getting tight.

And my wallet slimming down hah. It's going to be pay day soon for me, and I expect a good meal on that day too. There's this office culture of doing that haha. A way of rewarding oneself for all the stress endured at work?

I find: That my lil bro might be watching too many cartoons. Should take him out into the nature and intro him butterflies and bees soon. It's kinda overboard when he can recite most of the lines in a cartoon episode. And not just one cartoon either. Though I do like watching cartoons with him.

Teen Titans is my fav cartoon on Tv atm =)

He's a show-off isn't he?
Chong might love this pic.

He says the square thing is a picture frame... for his face!

Art in the Mall by three French graffiti artists.
Not too shabby.

The artists themselves.
I so love talented men.

ROSTI!
Now the question for me is:

To buy or not to buy?

and this pendant with wings and devil's tail!
Soooooooooooooooo nice!

Again:

To buy or not to buy?

Virtual village is a game for organizing skills.
You get to 'breed' different types of people and assign them to tasks you think needs done in the village. Need good calculation of timing to make sure food is there for the people's survival too. I like seeing how different people looking people can breed weird kids. Usually pretty people will breed ugly kids. How true in real life too.

Best thing is: the game goes on even if I close the app and shut com down

Pssstt... I can play it at work.

Everyday I sit in the same chair, work at the same table, listen to the same radio.

Everyday the shows come on without fail. The DJs might change though.

Everyday the chinese segment mentions about the 'XingXiu Singing Competition'

I know for a fact that Lina joined. So I went checking out the website for singer profiles just now. My what a surprise. Chin Li is joining, so is Chung san (that guy who got all As in O lvl in my brother's year) and Chyi's cousin too apparently. Click HERE.

Was remarking to Foo how these faces seem just very familiar but I can't quite place it who they are? Oh well, Brunei's quaint in that sense. Especially the chinese community.

Oh. One more thing. I've been checking out this shop-blog (blog that lets you shop). Loves the whole idea btw dude. And all the stuff in there too Lol. Kinda brings back Tw memories too.

Black friday

How's your black friday?

Mine was so-so.

Finished that HP book. Longing for more.

I wonder how some girls can apply mascara and drive at the same time.
I seem to already be fretting about possible dangers when i drive and apply lip gloss. Don't ask me why I don't put on lip gloss before starting off or something, this habit of putting on lip gloss while driving just came on, like that habit of watching fishies swim every morning before going to work.

I'll be reallllll careful. Because there's just so many car accident areas popping up around Brunei. Read the news here.

And avoid getting caught by police too. Like this lady here.

And here's also a website teaching you how to put on a face while driving lol. Here.
So much to learn haha. My whole 'face' only consists of lip gloss atm though, but these can come in handy when I finally learn how to put on eyeliners and etc etc.

Ah... Sunday. Weather RIGHT NOW= thunderstormy= shucks.

Anyway, here's some pics for Schyime's viewing pleasure :D
On the BBQ held at Geok Yi's place last night.

Don't gloom and fret like the weather I have now la Chyi, I'm sure you'll be able to make it back in time for the next BBQ :P We'll wait till there's less air traffic jam, then we'll start one again, even if impromptu yes? lol

Sitting around eating and chatting

I wonder what LHH has in his mouth? Sui Chieh wonders

LHH under the great mushroom

Second view

Groupie! Taken by me, so I'm not in there la~ Happy faces, and the girl beside Chuai is Philemon's (front, white shirt) girlfriend, Michelle.

The food and the fire.

Foo showing off his 'balls' AHAHAHA

We'z people just sitting around eating the fish. (Ping says:Must eat the fish ah, Geok's papa pengang for us one ahhh ahaha)

The usual BBQ chefs, Kim long and Foo

The wings intended for you chyi. We had marshmallows too

The 'Ayam-Ayam' fish. Barbecued to your liking LOL

Yeap, Geok yi's house is a very good spot for holding events such as these. Can't help feeling like we're sitting in a cafe while eating all the honeyed BBQ stuff. And Philemon and his gf bbq-ed some very honeyed wings near the end of the night too LOL

Like PC said: This feels like a F5 gathering. :D

We also talked about some old school stuff. And how Ah chyi says there should be a huuuuge reunion soon ey? Hmm.. I'm actually missing the fish now. haha

Oh, lastly. Here's a pic of the thing I cut off last week.
Not a huge thing certainly, but it has been causing me some inconvenience cause it's in the bra strap area and hurts to the touch. My cut is now healing good, cause its itchy all day.

Took a trip to the beach with my family just now. My lil bro had some fun threading the waters, and my two other siblings had fun looking for star fishes. Cool ass, I've never went star-fishing at beaches before. Took hell loads of pictures, will post them up once I transferred them to com.

Starting my working-life-for-two-months tomorrow!

Eeeks

Er Hem.... I tired to upload pictures just now
But the whole thing just doesn't work

Two attempts after, and i'm giving up

So, I'm going back to Kuching via long stretch of road on Sunday
Do not look for me ppl, I will be gone, again mwahaha
Will step on brunei border again on 11th Feb 2008

Oh, and please ppl. Do come to my house while i'm not here
And check to see if it's still in one piece :P
There was an appearance of a very desperate thief few nights ago, in my house area.

The story went on like this:

Thief goes to house number 2 of the row of houses
Owner of House 2 scared thief away and calls police
Police comes and looked around, finding no one, goes away
Maybe an hour later, thief comes back and pries on house number 3's door
Kasian, House number 3 got pried open and some stuff were stolen (specifics unknown)

Whoa, if house number 3 had super sized padlocks on their door, then the desperate one would have tried house number 4 (which is mine)

I just hope that particular thief don't come to this area everyday to check out the row of houses

I'm going to move all valuables out of this house when we go anyway mwahaha

Latest activities:

  • Busy with both school work and etc stuff that i need to do in order to stay in brunei as a legitimate resident (like getting my IC)
  • Doing all the necessary rounds in uni to make me one legitimate student (Gosh i feel so illegitimate now)
  • Preparing partially for my one week trip to Kuching
  • Arranging all necessary stuff to be given to people, like birthday pressies haha
  • Not getting my homework done.
  • Thinking about my statistics presentation tomorrow
  • Super furious thinking about coming up with a business plan for assignment as well as for this competition held by HSBC
  • Worrying about my library books that goes due tomorrow. That UBD website keeps having a server prob, making me unable to renew my lib books online ><

Ah... i feel busy
If blogger doesn't let me put pics up by tml, then i'll have to delay part 2~
