1 more 1 more!

Well.. this morning was certainly mind-boggling. For the first time in my life, I went in for UBD's exam unprepared, because I was feeling a bit dozy after taking some meds- Can't even get anything into this thick skull of mine.

Anyway, only one more paper to look forward to. Workplace health and Safety! This means war!!

Oh, I was registering a postcard on postcrossing. The devil in me prompted me to google and check if anyone uploaded my name on their postcrossing site (you know, sometimes people do that when they can't find me or sth and their cards expire)

I found this link for Chinese version of postcrossing. Was directed into a forum, and saw one of the postcrosser who I sent a card to before (named Mike), posting (very recently) a link to my postcrossing profile saying I look like one of the people in the Chinese postcrossing :S Gee I'm making it sound complicated.

Anyway, apparently I look like someone in China lah. Check this link for the Chinese literates: http://www.icardyou.com/game/13203/?p=0

I do not know how this 'Soul' girl looks like, but if she says we don't look alike, so be it. :) Still, amusing what one can get from a googling impulse .

Ah, I found a Lithuanian forum link with my profile linked too. Rough translation of what the forum poster said was that he didn't like the card that he private swapped with me. Ah... I don't remember ever asking anyone for swaps, so it must be him who came to me then. Aiyor.. if you didn't like your card, just say so mah, so kelian go to forums and post :P

Back to hit books!

It's a mail day!

Yeay, loving loving receiving mail!

Especially receiving postcrossing postcards! Cause you never know where you're getting the postcard from!

Let's see, I have: 1 from Portugal, 2 from Finland, 2 from Germany. Two of the cards are cartoonish too! Ah...... I love mail!

Even better, I got a package (sent to shop address) today too!

It's a book!

Stephen King's 'Four Past midnight' that I ordered from Acmamall earlier this month.
Not too bad I must say. I paid on 10th Sept, and by 27th Sept I have the book.
Neatly packaged and delivered to my doorstep.. er.. shop's doorstep lol
I'm definitely shopping there again!

Brunei's postal services has an average delivery time of 2 weeks.
The postman comes by my house once a week (Saturday in fact)
And letters to Europe generally take 11-17 days

Johnny Depp's face on the cover too ^^

Anyhoo, today's the last day of class before mid-semester break starts
To all a happy Raya, and Mid-term hol!

It's a fake holiday week for me infact.
Still so many assignments and surveys and group work and work
A test after the week, how fake

Fake holiday I tell you.

Major activity of the day::

Happy faces when thinking about the upcoming holiday week?

Ah Chong, what you doing? Gambling ah....? Oh myy..
What hand you got? Sure win?

A song about how the Mooncake Festival's (Mid-Autumn Festival) ancient stories and legends are being forgotten by kids who are always preoccupied with computers and homework nowadays. And how the moon is being obstructed by tall buildings in big cities.

In a way, it is also signalling the advancement of people/human since the olden days (when people will believe anything!)

Tonight's the festival. I'll be home alone, possibly.
Cause I don't feel like joining the festivities at my aunt's house
It's getting old to avoid playing lanterns and candles with little kids
I just say: I'm busy

A lot of things coming up.
The beach party, emails to people, swapping postcards, my group assignment(S), my job (thank god it's almost done!), meal dates, trip to the bank, etc etc

It's a good thing to have things to do, there's no time to think of anything else :)

Oh, I had a dream about Barack Obama, and I don't even follow politics!

I love mail =) I love snail mail =)

This is also my first time using Flickr.
I don't know why the sudden impulse to upload on flickr.
Maybe cause I clicked and found I can already log in as a user using my yahoo mail account?

There's so many things to be excited about these days.
I'm excited really. Really.
Ok, a bit tired right now. Feels like my bones need oiling.
This time, I'll just collapse on the way to my haystack hah hah hah

Happy Bday sin Cheah

Ok here's a quickie
I'm beat, collapsing into hay soon.

Happy Birthday to Ms YAP
who turns 22 on the auspicious day of 09-09-08

Photobucket
Ah yes, photo stolen from food-hungry
Hope you don't mind er, Hunnie/Food-Hungry
It's for 'good cause' :P

(: All the best wishes :)

*************

So today passed by with me going to lectures, dozing here and there, staring blankly at nothing at times cause I'm too damn sleepy. Also spent the day cruising with Teresa, Albert and Lee for that service marketing group assignment.

It's lucky the industry that we choose was a little more than amusing =)
We went around to the 4 arcades/amusement center available in Gadong, Kiulap and Seri

All I can say it, they're all different.
Have many to write. Good good.

Oh oh, and to date 6 postcards that I sent have reached their destinations. Good good. I'll put in their 'Thank-you messages' one day. Just so I can clear my email inbox and relive the happiness of others at receiving a rare postcard :P

Ok I'ma hit the hay.

Random... but large part about postcards!

First off, a picture of a postcard sent to me!
From Chyi (actually mailed by Chin Fen- Thanks loads!) Ozzie!
Not too bad eh? Got this wallaby/kangaroo stamp, and and! A stamp/chop that reads the postal dept as proud sponsor of Olympics 2008!

Er...I think that's what it says.... Cool though. To think! This stamp is only used for this period, or year! Won't be too wise to keep reminding people that you're the proud sponsor of Beijing 2008 Olympics way into year 2009,2010,2011,2012.... Would be so weird!

Why the stamp isn't koala? Too expensive?
Oh no no no, I'm not being ungrateful. Just curious.
Send me one also when you go tour tour end of yr ah Ah chyi!!!

I'm happy.

Scene in UBD @ 19.08.08. Weather: Rainy.

Oh oh, another thing. I just got myself an email, telling me that someone in Germany got my postcard!
Awesome! To know that the card arrived safely. The person's happy too, and I quote:

I loved your card. And it is cool to get one from a country that is relatively
"rare" at postcrossing (only 148 sent!).

Thank you so much!

Yeap, it's a good feeling. Am looking forward to send my next postcard! To... let's see.... Germany again!

p.s. Where's all the other postcards I sent?

Travel time for postcard to Germany: Around 9-10 days. Not too bad!

I'm more updated than...

Now: Drinking a cup of Lipton tea (Packed in India). Feels that my cup of tea has a slightly different taste from the Lipton I usually drink.

Makes me want to buy those Boh teabags that comes in many different flavors. Tea-mania for me. It's soothing.

Finished off partially what I was supposed to do. Even took time to compile a list of Brunei Darussalam's air-mail postal (postage) rates (which, weirdly, is not available anywhere online or in books. So I had to drop by outside Bandar Post office and look at the postal rates on it's huge piece of board)

The staff was super friendly though, gave me loads of help even though they can't provide me with a copy of the postal rates. Hmm... Brunei should print more postcards. It's very saddening to see nothing where post-cards should be when I looked into one of the display cases there.

Anyway, I took pictures of the board and came home to compile that air-mail postal rate list. Anyone who wants a copy of it, email to me -----> joanksp@gmail.com

.

Gotta continue working.
