Woes in the Cabin... Flies in my Bonnet

While cleaning up my stuff, I came across the boarding ticket for my flight from JB to Miri a week back. Airasia Flight No. AK 5502, 07Jan2010 1740 to 1935

Sentimental, this ticket, yes. All the hassles I had to go through for the booking of the flight and the worrisome overloaded baggage LOL

More than that, this ticket reminded me of the 3 flies that flew with us from JB to Miri. Yes, Flies! They're stowaways!

But seriously, they were really annoying to be with in the cabin. The cabin crew were not the least concerned or they did not took notice of this (can they? The flies were actively buzzing around in the middle section of the plane!) The crew was laughing themselves silly at the back btw.

Sigh, I admit defeat at the cleverness of the flies to use the plane and migrate to warmer countries, too bad Miri was raining too when I descended from the plane LOL.

clikity clack

This keyboard goes clack clack clack, its annoying

Anyway, Have a happy end of winter to all, remember to eat your round flour balls thingy. Yeap, the greeting will still hold symbolic meaning even if we do not have winter. Rainy season count ka? But it's still raining profusely over this part of the island. Yeap, profusely.

Anywa, Duma key by Stephen King is enjoyable, because I am still reading it. No doubt he will be the one writer who can send chills down my spine with just one sentence. hearts hearts hearts

My lappie can't keep in touch with the World Wide Web at the moment, so it's a sad affair for the Internet addict that I am. Still, I be thankful for the existing connection and desktop, otherwise, I'd feel so deprived :(

Hopes to watch Avatar soon, if not in cinema, I'll make it a point to buy a pirate. As the local vcd hawker says: Support piracy! Support me! Heck, the movie should be good, even DongWan is recommending it yo! Chyi@schyime, it was good right? Right.

And the shoe hawker will respond with: Here here! Buy one free one! Buy left shoe, free right shoe!

Great "-_- I learn creative taglines from the hawkers.

200th

Current weather: Rainy Cold
Current song: Hello Mr. Christmas by Dan Bi [ref last post]

Nice weather to start off the month

Was reading the translated part of DongWan's blog just now
Where he mentioned this quote that suggests how youngsters these days are taking the extravagant life for granted.

I can feel it too. When I take hi-tea at one cafe, and my dad is eating instant noodles at home.
I can feel it too, when I see the simple food that my grandpa longs for when he's hungry.

Sigh, internationalization. (2 more exam papers to go!)

Perhaps there are times when I took things for granted. The life I have now, the things I own, the people around me. Perhaps there are times when, unintentionally, I give off a nonchalant air. Perhaps, there are times when I am outright nasty.

I can only say.. At times, I did it on purpose keke
But then, other times, I'd feel ashamed for having this 'take for granted' mentality...what to do?

Mishmash

How come I feel liberated all of a sudden?

Even when nothing is going on.

Sigh, the simplicity of my narrow emotions.

Pictures that try to communicate with you are below.

Taking pictures with the brood (plus chong)
Chong posted up some of the group pictures in her blog.
I'l just gonna post my faces here then.

Pictures from a trip that was supposed to be for academic purposes
Stumbled into a furniture shop and voila! 40 pictures!

It's past 12 midnight on my watch now.
So these pictures will have to be taken 'yesterday'
Me n the brain zoomed up a hill to find scenic view. Took some pictures, then quickly ducked back into my beloved car to hide from the glaring sun. Phew.

But, the pictures turned out well lighted and nice. I didn't even need to brighten any of it. It's all in its natural splendor~

MM.. going to sleep. Ta~

And read your readings chyi, exams coming soon.

Something amusing

It's a drizzling drizzling day today.
Ah...

Yeorobeun,

Happy Mooncake Festival aka
Chuseok and

Day of the Francisco Morazan(Honduras) and
Unity Day (National)(Germany) and
Happy
World Temperance Day to
everyone around the world!

My day today:

After this morning's rather interesting lecture, I took a detour to get to my uni library. Ah.. the overdue fines are already over 10 bucks, need to clear them a bit before I can borrow books again. Plus, had some books to renew again.

I love the library. Because it has so many books, and facilities are not bad, plus some pretty friendly library staff. Or maybe it's just because i have an everlasting affinity for books :)

Self-check machine

I love how one can check out books for themselves, and return them via this 24 hour automated book drop. Something that looks like this:

How to use:
Drop your book on the conveyor belt, one at a time. Do not put your arm in, else you'll end up calling the fire department. When you are done, press 'Print receipt' on the touch screen to get the receipt stating the books you have returned.

So I went up to the automated book drop, and sees a girl with an armload of books in front of me...

She must have read the 'How to use' instructions by the side of the machine. CAUSE SHE WAS RETURNING HER BOOKS ONE BY ONE! I mean, not the 'wait for first book to disappear on conveyor belt then put another onto belt' type, but the 'return one book, print receipt, wait for receipt, return another book again' type.

Oh my, I was quite... surprised? I thought she was returning books for her friends or something, so maybe she wanna separate the books of different accounts. But whoa, all the books to be returned the same way? Either she must have many friends, or she really took the 'one at a time' on the instruction very literally.

And no, I did not stop her or anything. Have to admit I was being peculiar and smiling at her back all the way though. Even after she went away with all 8 or 9 pieces of small receipts in hand. Awh... must be a first year student or something.

I do not know if many people do this, I mean, the one at a time thingy. I do hope not, it'd be quite funny for people who sees it.

Still, it's amusing don't you think? How this one sentence can be interpreted so literally. What's a better phrase to prevent future misunderstandings?

People with one hand also can clap

It's no news that there's been some random wild fires in Bn lately.

The areas around Rimba also has some serious overheat.

Here's what some parts look like now.
Forgive me for being a bit happy, but this place is good for a photoshoot!

Blackened Earth

Three days before...

Smoke arizing from Giant area.
Copters were carrying buckets of water.

.. and highway was jammed in some parts due to heavy smoke.
I even had time to snap a picture. That shows how slow I was driving.

On the positive side. We had our little brother's birthday party last Sunday.
While the younger kids were playing in Jungle Gym, us older kids had nothing to do but smile at our phones..

Little cuzzie named Veronica.

Showing off my new watch.
B$ 7.00 from GTime in Kiulap Mall, comes with 3 months warranty.

Sometimes, there's a need for both hands to come together in order for you to clap.
But have you forgotten about the 'slap'?
Only one hand, and there can be hurt caused to other parts of the body.
Do think about others before launching a missile attack.
For all the pain may be caused onto the ones you really love.

It's all about you~

Can't seem to get the song "All about you" by McFly from my head.

Fairly good weather today------- an in-house report from me.
Internet connection is good too----- another in-house report.

Dreams? I've had my share of weird dreams again.
If it wasn't a thriller dream, it would be some kind of repetitive dream that has me waking up over and over again to realise I was still in dreamland. Oh, there's this dream where I dreamt Chyi Mei having a tragic accident while parasailing. Ouchee, that was gut-robbing. Think I had my heart in throat in that dream. Another dream of me reminding myself what to write on my blog, but i forgot whatintheheavens it was as soon as I woke up.

Sigh.

Should I be positive and tell myself:: Awhh, it's good to forget things, at least you won't remember anything bad ;)

Pictures!

Yannie's bday was on Wednesday, we bought a cake (BTW, no one paid me any money for the sharing of cake!!! Bayar bayar!!!!) for her on Thursday. Planned to celebrate then go class after. Manatau, the class was cancelled last minute and we entertained ourselves in the brightly painted rooms of FBEPS. (Just so we can justify the petrol +time used to commute to uni)

She tried to kill me, god knows why.

Groupie!

Urineun SHINHWA-imnida!!
Being very happy in the orange room.

Me illustrating how much that lighter costs. And new haircut. I look older here hmm

An update because Chyi blowed me to

Yessirree, I'm back in BN

Very hazy Must say, suffocating and humid at the same time mmm

Classes are alright. If things go badly tomorrow, I can have wednesdays and thursdays off ^^

But we'll see, it'll be great if i can take more courses no?

Oh, or is there a maximum to the subjects we can actually take? Ahh, i dislike UBD's very foggy administrative system. Why can't there be one notice board with all the rules and stuff, instead of having to hear it from different lecturers?

Anyone enlighten me?

View from the plane, think i was seated around the middle of the plane.

Picture taken behind my little nephew, he was fascinated by the water fountain at Jusco Bukit Indah .

Ahh, a kind of Indian delicacy I had. It has similar texture with really soggy and very thin meehoon, not too bad when its eaten with dried coconut and sugar.

The wholesale market that I went one day, took us around one hour to get to the place.
It's jam-packed with stalls selling clothes and whatnots, mostly clothes.
It was interesting, really.

Hot in my room!!!!

Arghhhhh

I miss taiwan!

I really really do!

Especially after seeing Crystal's facebook pictures.
Crystal was one of the nice staff in Taipei backpackers, where we stayed during taiwan trip

Gosh, I remember that tree in this pic (stolen from Crystal FB)

See that tree with ladder chyi?
When we went to DanShui Yu Ren Ma Tou
We got separated, remember?

Mak and me had to look for you amidst the many people haha
And when we finally found you, you said you'll wait by that tree while we two go explore, if I remember correctly.

I remember that tree for some reason haha
The weird things that I can remember

MMm... food found there- Ah Gei, Tie Dan
Did we buy some beanies there too?

Ah... I miss Taiwan's weather too, and Taiwan's MAYDAY!

*floats off in reminiscence*

Yesterday was a fairly productive day. Accomplished quite a lot of things on my to-do list.

Moving house tomorrow!

Unity in a family

Not quite in the mood for too many words.

It's kind of bothering me. The fact that the whole family always get sick one after the other. Especially this year. Ever since we had the 'collective food poisoning' episode. Did our genes somehow get mutated along with that incident? Sad case. Low immunity for flu season.

Mood: Flu-ish and Mellow

Song playing: Yeh Bbeu Jan Ah by Shinhwa

Random pictures:

There's no hidden meaning. Pic taken at furniture shop.

No hidden meaning. Pic taken at other furniture shop.

Nice family pic. I look like my brother's girlfriend -_-

*Additional note:
Photographer of all 3 photos-- SIANGYI#10

Very busy with house moving indeed.

My Theories

My theory on random stuff came buzzing in. It's hard to ignore.

Why: I'm liking ballads nowadays, especially captivated by Shin Hye Sung's voice.

Reason: I'm sick of all the 'Insomnia~Ah~Ah~Ah~' songs that my brother keeps playing. Also 'Just Dance' by Lady Gaga, and those Big Bang songs. Listening to those beats everyday gives me a headache. I need some 'time off'! Slow is the way to go!

Why: I'm going back to playing Neopets.

Reason: 2 reasons actually. 1 is that I've nothing better to do. 2 is I'm getting kinda tired of Pet Society. Ooops, 3 reasons. 3 is my brother has challenged me to see who makes the most money in Neopets. ><

Why: do I do weird things sometimes?

Reason: It depends on who I'm with. Take above pic as example. We were on our way to Batu Bersurat from Gadong. LOL.

Yeap, again a meanigless day. Back to completing my 5th to last assignment :(

Overdued

It's a long long over-dued post

Plus Chong, Lina, Kelly, Bro, Sis
Ended up in the dark in Gadong
Definitely a night to remember LOLs
As with every bday I have had. Funny how things can distort weirdly during my bdays
Much appreciation for a yummy Birthday Cake, even with the 'spello'

03/02/09
A little dedication to LeeHH for his birthday that happened 2 weeks ago
Happy Birthday!
(Oops, I hope no one comes hitting me for putting his pic here, *ahem Mrs Lee*)

05/02/09
Then there's a birthday dedication like 10 days late, to Ms Hui Ing
Happy Birthday!
(She's the one right smack in the middle of this formation)

Sometime before CNY
I forgot the reason for uploading this picture
Maybe its just to let people see how weird my bro poses.

Happy CNY 2009!
Psst I can't get over how time actually zooms away
We were looking at 20 yo photographs back in Kuching
Ah.. memories..

29/01/09
Here's my bro creating a little memory of his own
When Kuching was 'blessed' by heavy rain
which flooded our roads

More floods
They're happy that's for sure
I was being very careful not to drop my phone into the murky waters

Cute little cousin named Erica.
She should be the littlest in the family for now
Can't get over her smiley face =)

Random... but large part about postcards!

First off, a picture of a postcard sent to me!
From Chyi (actually mailed by Chin Fen- Thanks loads!) Ozzie!
Not too bad eh? Got this wallaby/kangaroo stamp, and and! A stamp/chop that reads the postal dept as proud sponsor of Olympics 2008!

Er...I think that's what it says.... Cool though. To think! This stamp is only used for this period, or year! Won't be too wise to keep reminding people that you're the proud sponsor of Beijing 2008 Olympics way into year 2009,2010,2011,2012.... Would be so weird!

Why the stamp isn't koala? Too expensive?
Oh no no no, I'm not being ungrateful. Just curious.
Send me one also when you go tour tour end of yr ah Ah chyi!!!

I'm happy.

Scene in UBD @ 19.08.08. Weather: Rainy.

Oh oh, another thing. I just got myself an email, telling me that someone in Germany got my postcard!
Awesome! To know that the card arrived safely. The person's happy too, and I quote:

I loved your card. And it is cool to get one from a country that is relatively
"rare" at postcrossing (only 148 sent!).

Thank you so much!

Yeap, it's a good feeling. Am looking forward to send my next postcard! To... let's see.... Germany again!

p.s. Where's all the other postcards I sent?

Travel time for postcard to Germany: Around 9-10 days. Not too bad!

touchey touchey

Pictures~!

AHAHAHAHA! Wish I could've seen your face when that picture popped up!
'Tis how my future scar looked like 2 days ago. It's basically the same now, but without the stitches.

Don't feel too excited or too depressed when you see this post Chyi.

More normal pictures:

So last Sunday we went to the beach.

Whole family thing. Long time since I did that.
Anyway, them people were strolling along shallow waters when my mom came up with a star fish. Seems the kids nearby us were catching them starfishes too. And my bro (elder) and sis started looking for them fishies. They say its not that hard to find, cause they kept washing in with the tide.

Looking hard them.

The first star fish that we thought died.

Then it came to life when we put it in water. Along with few others. Forming patterns.
The beach was super dirty. Loads of plastic cups to find.

Changing patterns all the while..

Oh my lil bro was super happy

Scenery shot!
Brunei beaches can be more beautiful, if people would stop throwing rubbish.

We caught more and more star fishes!
All of them crammed in a small cup

Look alike not?
Nawh..

Nah, the elder little brother.
Doesn't look like me up-close right chong? LOL

He's got one similar trait with me though-- BULLY the sister!!

We decided to let them star fishes back to the sea.
I wonder who had the brilliant idea of putting them on wet sand and let them slowly 'crawl' back to the sea.

This picture looks... adoring. HAH My lil bro looks cacat-ly happy.

View view!

I took about a hundred pictures of the star fishes from every angle.
Bopien. First time catch star fish mah..

Oh, the star fishes ended up being cast into deeper waters btw.
Bro and sis had to wade out to do that.
Couldn't have kept the fishes. They need sea water lah.
I wonder what the little kids catching star fishes did with their catch of the day.

Nowadays I concentrate on the guppies that I got from Geok.
They're living and breathing and healthy I suppose.
Just need to wonder whether I threw out any eggs while changing water.
Can't for the life of me spot any guppies eggs. I can't last time, I can't now.

Going to Miri again tml.

This time, my brother's going back to get holed up and study everyday again.
He's got a blog, has anyone wondered lol.

Weather's terrible.

And those pantyliners I bought were so small they must have been designed for a little girl's vagina.

.
