The wide city
I like this statue at Guangzhou. Mainly because I've stood there, my grandparents stood there and my parents stood there. It's a nice feeling to get, having 3 generations in your family being able enough to stand at such a faraway place. Some more, among so many places in this world, and in China, we went to the same place.
I like this place for more reasons too.

Join in the Fun, It's worth the wait
Last night I can't wait to get to sleep, so I can wake up as early as possible and get ready for convocation.
Tonight, I can't bear to sleep cause I'm afraid the excitement of today will be sizzled (die out maybe?) after I go into slumberland. Maybe a round of chess with Zhou Gong will enable me to forget about today's experience totally?
Ah, I saw someone writing End of our convocation is held when September ends :)
This year would be special. At least, the whole month would be special. Starting with the hubbub of the ever-changing convocation details, the surprising interview at istana, the very wind-blown interview @ UBD rehearsal, of course, all the pic taking, uploading, tagging in FB. Man I can;t believe that the picture uploading is still going on, and it's already Sunday!
What's more, a bunch of us are going for a class picture on Sunday. I bet it'll be fun. I so want a picture of that board in UBD (which has all of the graduates' names) Looking at it in Facebook makes me want to have a photo of it too, at least, for momento mah, such an expensive board.
I should feel nostalgic? Depressed? Perhaps sad that I'm leaving my years of study. Strangely I feel busy but happy. Not a trace of sadness yet, maybe it's cause I'm still seeing and talking to the same people online? Haha, all the twitter people are still so active. Wait for it, once everyone starts working then the excitement and chatter will dwindle.
I remembered: being heck nervous before going up on stage, and standing right in front of HM was definitely a dizzying experience. Ah I felt like everything was slo-mo for me. It's supposed to feel like that if I were to meet the man of my dreams or something. SOmeone please tell me if this is what falling in love feels like. No, I'm not in love with HM, I'm more of in awe and struck by his charisma, and oh gosh, I have to gush about his good looks.
Not sure if we were too noisy once we got off the stage, but the chatter was good. And ah, much thanks to the marshals for helping too, esp Wardah Azimah <3 Her words of encouragement kinda soothed me before heading up stage, kinda. Too bad we didn't get to take a lot of pictures with everyone due to traffic, family, lunchtime and all other things. Too bad. I liked what Nuridah said in her interview for one of the newspapers: Being in the robe makes the whole thing more real, and the fact that we're really graduating comes on so strong, or something along these lines. That robe may not be likable to some, but hey, we're in something special haha. Unforgettable bwah, we'll take out pictures and discuss about times with safety pins and double tapes and those different colored tudungs. Some peeps would be discussing about... maybe 10 plasters?

Much gratitude goes to everyone who helped me during these 4 years (peers, lecturers, librarian etc) Gd'luck!
COMBO POST
______________
Today is the day after the day I took pictures with peeps in the studio and also in UBD. Y'know I really can't pass up that gigantic board with all our names on it!
The evening sunrays was just nice. The breeze was just nice. The people was just nice :P That moment I was supposed to go home though, was a bit nostalgic, maybe reality finally set in :) Reality that comes in parts
That part where I don't have to wake up hell early and squeeze traffic with people in my kampong just so I can arrive at lecture theater all sleepy.
That part where classes just get canceled and I'd spend the hour grumbling then maybe off to The Mall and spend a bomb.
That part where we won't hold 'discussions' in classrooms which will somehow end up in munching and internet surfing or gossiping sessions. Haha, maybe throw in some make-up tips seminar into it too.
That part where I don't have to get all sasak with assignment and deadlines. Not to mention about the wrestling I did throughout 4 years with my printer, A4 paper and printer inks.
That part where I'll stroll down to the library and bask in books. Then I'll come out and perhaps meet a classmate or two and they'll go like "wah rajin eh go lib" I'll reply "No lah, borrow story books nia!"
That part whereby every few months or so I'll have to go register and get signatures from lecturers/lecturers-to-be for the semester. And perhaps a trip or two down to the Finance Dept and pay my dues.
There's too many parts, maybe I'll be able to recall all of them, maybe not. Maybe I'll forget some faces, maybe not. Maybes are really only maybes :)

Updating after forsaking
How long have I visited this blog. Even if it is my own.
My blog should list the things I'm currently feeling/doing? I'm thinking of cooking something after watching Chef Kiss (Ep8). Ears are bouncing with notes from Se7en's 'Digital Bounce'. T.O.P was very nice featuring, love their perf together. The morning air felt cool, I might take up running around nature if it wasn't for the messed up physical adjustments. Tweeting is a new activity, since a lot of people are trending things for people. I should create another account for that purpose.
심심해? 아니주 -- New hobby, creating totally un-understandable Korean words for my own pleasure.
Currently active in almost all Playfish games, give me anything and I'll give back.
Last interesting place went: Bridex for Consumer Fair. It wasn't a total bore, nor was it really interesting. I bought something on impulse to curb the displeasure of being rejected twice ㄱ:( Took some pictures with my partner- y'know, the one that everyone expects to see me going out with. My partner already posted her pictures. I suppose her blog has it too. So I post my own face and it'll be sufficient.
No the pictures didn't turn out like this naturally, I just like my things patchy at the moment.

I wish there's more meaning. I suppose everything can be romanticized and put in a totally interesting light for a blog post. Then again, my mood dictates that this post make everyone get intimate with their brain cells. Go Figure how I'm feeling now. (Isn't there something called Go Fish?)
I hope black pigments are reduced with me not awake during broad daylight.

Day 2 of my daised days in WM
This morning started real early.
7 something, I had to follow my cousin to her workplace in MidValley.
It's weird seeing such a big place being so dark, maybe coz I'm not used to the big size of everything here (except for the food portions!)
After breakfast at McDonald's, we went out separate ways, her to her office, and me, to star my adventure of railroads and tarmac roads.
After some bouts of riding and transferring from commuter trains to monorails, I landed myself in TimeSquare, at a time way too early for anyone to visit "-_-
So I had the whole place to myself, somewhat.
I went floor by floor to the 5th floor before my brother and my other cousin Fei showed up. The whole afternoon was spent shopping and buying and more shopping. After which we went to Sungai Wang too, but then by that time we were to exhausted to spend much time shopping. Phew, the last mins spent at Sungai Wang was wet and splashy :(
Lotsa food today, I don't really rmb everything, the brain (and legs) now needs to rest!

I tell people I'm officially unemployed now. But it seems I still have endless tasks to complete before I am able to finally let go and seek a new chapter in life. I guess all of us are still not over the fact that we are now free from books. No matter how often we complain, studying; reading; preparing and cramming for exams have really become a big part of our lives. The fact doesn't stick, so much so that some of us went for a 3-day First Aid Course and came out feeling a bit nostalgic maybe? Or maybe it's just me. How often will I see these people again? Probably soon? Probably never?
Ugh, the body is hurting all over. It's going to be flu season over here. I have yet to contribute a post to Dear Chong's Birthday. I should. But the headache is so strong now I should get to sleep. The Bday post will come belated, but it will be here, I swear.

Earth Hour

Glad to see lotsa people joining in Earth Hour today :)
My neighborhood was reasonably dark (cept for a few gate lights)
This would be my.. second year? Third year?
Ah I'm not sure.
But sitting in the dark felt very purposeful.
Relaxing too, with a cup of tea from Japan
Must say, the tea feels really smooth, possibly cause the leaves are so blended. MM.. reminds me a lot of the taste of sushi. I think my craving for sushi is too over the top, everything I taste, tastes of sushi :(

clikity clack
This keyboard goes clack clack clack, its annoying
Anyway, Have a happy end of winter to all, remember to eat your round flour balls thingy. Yeap, the greeting will still hold symbolic meaning even if we do not have winter. Rainy season count ka? But it's still raining profusely over this part of the island. Yeap, profusely.
Anywa, Duma key by Stephen King is enjoyable, because I am still reading it. No doubt he will be the one writer who can send chills down my spine with just one sentence. hearts hearts hearts
My lappie can't keep in touch with the World Wide Web at the moment, so it's a sad affair for the Internet addict that I am. Still, I be thankful for the existing connection and desktop, otherwise, I'd feel so deprived :(
Hopes to watch Avatar soon, if not in cinema, I'll make it a point to buy a pirate. As the local vcd hawker says: Support piracy! Support me! Heck, the movie should be good, even DongWan is recommending it yo! Chyi@schyime, it was good right? Right.
And the shoe hawker will respond with: Here here! Buy one free one! Buy left shoe, free right shoe!
Great "-_- I learn creative taglines from the hawkers.

In so far as

My titles for stuff really sucks I know.
SP is not too good at the following:
- Making up titles
- Summarizing
- Photo-shopping
- and many more
I can't get an incident out of my mind. Though it happened more than a week ago.
I went out to Bruneian's favorite hangout area on halloween night. Wearing a simple dress from Vietnam. This aunty came up and requested for pictures with the gang I was with. Reason?
My daughter is really shy lah, she wants to take picture but dare not ask. She told me people will only dress up tonight, so she wants to take picture and show her friends at school tml, hAhahaha, and her mom is being crazy here with her!
Gee, what a cool mom.
I think that little girl will grow up an expressive person.
The love her mom showed for her was so glaring =)
See, most parents probably love their kids to bits and pieces, but probably no one gave them classes on how to express love to their kids. It's so common to hear stories about these parents and that parents and how they want their kid to be. Most of the time I noticed that kids from these type of parents don't express themselves very well. It's passed down the hereditary line huh?
Just a random thought. I'm blessed to be living in a family where my parents don't restrict any creative actions of mine (doesn't mean they are happy about it, but still!)
'Assignments are welcome any time over exams!'

Condolences
It's not anyone I know personally
I've been hearing about this piece of news since a few days ago. But today's the first time I've read an article about it.
An unfortunate incident took place in Batu Kawa, Kuching. It's quite near to my grandparent's place. I can't seem to find any English articles about it. So here's a rough line on what's happening.
On the night of the mooncake festival (a night of gathering for many Chinese families), a housewife, her three young children and an 11-year-old uncle went for a walk outside their house. Their main aim was to collect some branches from which to hang the paper lanterns that the husband was about to bring home. After getting the branches, they walked over to an area where there's a little pond, presumably to have a look-see at the beautiful night scene.
Unknown to them, a nest of deadly Asian giant hornets was still agitated from being disturbed by some teenagers a few days ago. What happens next is as good as your guess. The little party got stung from head to toe. The two youngest kids (aged 4(m) and 6(f)) were the first to be pronounced dead at the hospital, due to extensive poisoning from the hornets' stings. The third to go was their elder sister, a little girl of 8.
As far as I know, their uncle (aged 11) has recovered and out of the hospital. And their mom, the housewife, is still in Intensive Care. The three little kids were cremated on Saturday (10.10.09).
Imagine the poor father's devastation. Getting home happily with paper lanterns, ready to celebrate the festival, only to find out all of your family members are in critical condition at the hospital, then your kids leaving you one by one. He expressed regret during one of the interviews for when he kept putting off his eldest daughter's request for a doll during the last time they talked- on the hospital bed hours before she died. I guess, he must have thought that there were still plenty of time between him and the eldest daughter.
The housewife- the mom- still doesn't know about the passing of her three kids. I can imagine her despair upon knowing that the kids she risked her life to save, were still gone at the end of the day.
____________________
It is only after this widely-covered incident, that the whole of Sarawak is thrown into a Hornet-killing spree. Sigh, even false alarms about hornet nests are making headlines these days. If only someone cared enough to eliminate these hazards in the first place. Wouldn't the kids have lived?
My prayers to be with the family and the victims.

Youngins

Currently listening: Shinhwa- First Love
This song moves me to tears, jeongmal. Well, nearly anyway. It's so touching even if I don't know what the heck they're singing.
I've also just watched Andy's come back during Shinhwa 5th fanmeeting video. For SHCJ, First Love will be the mark of Andy's comeback then? Added meaning to the song I'd say. For the return of Shinhwa's little baby ^^
A lot of people setting up families now. FB shows a lot of kiddy and baby pictures. And happy family wedding pictures. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't moved.
It must be great to be with someone you love, and having a kid together too. (Of course, let's omit all the financial woes these people might face.) I like kids, not the potty part, the playing part haha!
I'm not really a romantic person by nature (jeongmal!) WYSIWYG from me. Pity the bf who has to bear with the lack of emotions. I doubt this kind of happy-family life is the life for me. There is still so much to do, so much to see in this world. But once in a while, I'd get somewhat tired and think: Ah, won't it be nice to have someone to talk to without any barriers, just cause s/he will be the person who understands you. Won't it be nice to have someone rely on you for once? Won't it be nice to be someone really important to another human being. To him, you'll be the world ^^
I like the lyrics in First Love. It reminds me of what I felt when going into relationships, at start. I once told a friend that I do not know what falling in love is, because I have never had strong emotions. I can't say I know now, but at least I feel a wee bit of emotion. Sigh I must be really cold blooded. When was my first love? Frankly, I don't remember, or I don't even know C:
P.s. Learning Korean on my own. Wait for me fluency!

Translation
Andy (Narration)
First love.
This song is dedicated to my one and only love.
DongWan (Verse One)
Can you see it?
Our love is still a little young and heavy.
Can you hear it? My quiet prayer.
HyeSung
My eyes and hands can all feel you.
How can I describe this kind of feeling?
You don't understand why I can only smile foolishly, but when you see me, you will also smile... like a fool...
HyeSung (Chorus)
When I close my eyes, you come into my dreams.
I don't even want to part from you for a moment.
Let's wait until the next morning arrives, and I will run to your side.
It doesn't matter how hard the wind blows or how heavy it rains...
Rap One
With your beautiful voice, you open up my day...
just because of this, I can sleep peacefully (uh).
I especially thank you for embracing me with your saintly heart.
It's all because of you, that this world has become
beautiful...
Eric (Rap Two)
Get ready girl, like I'm suppose to uh, pity the punk, supersprung, you bring the bomb, from collaborated, there be all about the bigger the figure, I trigger lyrics over the drum, I love you the most, beautiful, precious, first love; no one could ever prevent our love. I will protect you.
Verse One
The words that are lingering but because I could not say them, I sadly turned around. But from faraway you called upon me.
You had once said, "Even if you don't say it I already know".
We both took a picture together, and so that I could be with you everyday, I put it on a wall in my room.
I want to hear your voice over the telephone line.
I cannot let it go, because this is the first time I will love in my lifetime.
These happy days are more precious than anything else on this earth... we make love and make it through the night.
Eric (Narration)
Think about it girl, all those things, came to be as a great blessing... cause of you girl... my first love.

Yeo ro beun

I'm very busy, No, I will be very busy.
Can't get rid of the thoughts about 4 tests, 2 reports floating around.
Haven't even printed the report I just finished yet.
God Bless please let there be enough ink.
Originally wanted to upload some piccies I made a story of
But then, there's still much to be desired.
I think I'll just leave pic above

Sunday at the Shahbandar
Currently listening to: Minwoo's Minnovation album, ShinHyeSung "Because it's you", Brave Brothers (feat.Son Dam Bi &Lee Min Woo) "Invisible"
What a day to wake up at 3 pm ^^
It's been a long time since I've slept in peace with no one calling me for breakfast and lunch. Guess my mom is plain lazy on a Sunday morn too haha
My sis had this weird enthusiasm to go hiking today
So hiking we went
After I had a cup of water and some wedges.
(Aish, totally regretted not having anything else to eat before torturing my body)
So, below are some pics taken and edited using Photoscape. Nice App!
Also, I've added in some split pics of a particular soft toy
It was posing on the balcony of my house
Can't resist taking a pic of it, ahaha
Can you guess what it is?
Great view up there.
There's time to appreciate the scenery as I was huffing and puffing for rest breaks all the way HAH
New facilities added in the vicinity.
Great!
Doggy
This guy kept following us around.
I would have thought it was because of my Nasi Katok in hand.
But he followed us even after we ate.
Our strategy of keeping him away? Get into the water!
Yah, my sis afraid of dogs btw
Otherwise, I'd love to keep him

Me and my sis are not good navigators. We got kinda lost on which way to take. An AngMoh ahjuhssi was kind enough to point us 'the way Home' as he said it LOL
While on one of the tracks, we trailed behind another ahjussi to see where he goes. We were like: Ah? Do you think there's a way down? And then... we caught sight of the ahjussi going down a path we missed while going up :S "-_-

Some exercising + warming up equipment for before you go up the stairs and after you come down. We had fun playing on those in fact. Cause they're so colorful LOL
There's some around the playground area, also some before the area where you start up hill-stairs.

Ah, there's also this 'Path of health'
where, many stones are set into the path. Great for massaging toes.
Alas, so sorry, my health has always been on the poor side. Can't take all the sharp stones. I'll just walk with my shoes on.
My sis on the other hand, challenged the path, and came out yowling
To which a little kid remarked to his mom: "Ma, you see that jie jie cannot walk on this, I can walk on this (stone path) eh.... Li hai eh me?"
Yah, my sis went red in the face and I shouted back: Yeah kid, you're really great, this jie jie is really no use ahahahaha~

People with one hand also can clap
It's no news that there's been some random wild fires in Bn lately.
The areas around Rimba also has some serious overheat.

Here's what some parts look like now.
Forgive me for being a bit happy, but this place is good for a photoshoot!

.. and highway was jammed in some parts due to heavy smoke.
I even had time to snap a picture. That shows how slow I was driving.
On the positive side. We had our little brother's birthday party last Sunday.
While the younger kids were playing in Jungle Gym, us older kids had nothing to do but smile at our phones..

Showing off my new watch.
B$ 7.00 from GTime in Kiulap Mall, comes with 3 months warranty.
Sometimes, there's a need for both hands to come together in order for you to clap.
But have you forgotten about the 'slap'?
Only one hand, and there can be hurt caused to other parts of the body.
Do think about others before launching a missile attack.
For all the pain may be caused onto the ones you really love.

Pictures of June
Ladies and gents, and her royal Chyi-ness
Here's some pictures, taken somewhere along June 2009

Picture taken with a post box @ Miri Airport. Hmm.. he's a picture lover. I should link this picture to his blog.
So far, the days have been going slow. I slept, ate and slept.
Contributed nothing whatsoever to my temporary foster family :P
Was sick from body overheat for the last two days.
My first dollars spent in Johor? It was on medical fees. :(
Oh, or maybe that steamboat meal. Or even that bowling game. I have bad memory.
Anyway, weird dream I had about ice-creams last night.
I had 3 or 4 sticks of ice creams, and they were melting.
So, I had the clever idea of melting them and drinking the liquid through a straw.
No wastage like that mah, right?
But I melted the ice creams in the weirdest place imaginable.
ON my laptop KEYBOARD!
Apparently, the dream ME thought it's a good idea to melt ice creams on the laptop cause it's always generating so much heat. Plus, I can stick the straw in through the slits between individual keys to drink up my concoction.
Yucks. Whatever was I thinking?

Unity in a family
Not quite in the mood for too many words.
It's kind of bothering me. The fact that the whole family always get sick one after the other. Especially this year. Ever since we had the 'collective food poisoning' episode. Did our genes somehow get mutated along with that incident? Sad case. Low immunity for flu season.
Mood: Flu-ish and Mellow
Song playing: Yeh Bbeu Jan Ah by Shinhwa

Long time no post.
It's a tad boring in Ping-ville.
Eat, sleep, read books (eh, I'm studying leh)
Unlike Chyi, who's having her little wings stuffed with food
And *sobs* has no exam frets
IF my timetable is finalised,
I have 5 papers in 4 days (1st to 4th December)
No kacau me during that period please everyone, I might bite

Jewel in the eye of the beholder
Behold, the apple/jewel in my eye at the moment.

=)

A gift from my brother who just came back from Kuching. Can't wait to devour the book! After, of course, I finish everything at hand. Including my job.
Still loads of random things going around. Hmm can't quite remember what, but I know there's a lot going on. And I'm in this state of content. Guess things change a lot when one reflects.
And reflects. And reflects.
I reflect.... by holding up an imaginary mirror and stare with eyeballs for long period. Very lame pun. It's a good thing to do anyway. Life is still in its simplicity even with all the swirling around going on.
Ya think my tranquil mood might have came with all the tea I'm drinking?

So little time, so much to do.
I love my salary, but then books and libraries are enticing too.
Missing Tw's book stores. Now that's nerd heaven :P
It's weird seeing how quickly youngsters grow up. My twin cousins are already 9! I can still remember visiting them in those boxes when they were still babies- they were there due to having blue skin or something. Anyway, they're cute. But I'd place my bet on them being spoiled brats with an attitude by the time they're 16.
Eating out today was, different. B$ 6 malay style buffet somewhere around Kiulap. I've never went into that area before. So weird to discover that almost every restaurant in that area offers buffet-style meal. , Meal was nice, more importantly, there was this bea-o-tiful waitress who hail from China. Nice girl that. I loved the sambal ulaman.

Won't it be nice now to take a trip down somewhere unknown.?
