Melacca!

Now listening to: Minnovation by M (Lee Min Woo)

Hi ya! Am back from Melacca. Damn I'm so beat now.

Let's see. A little review after the trip.

Mucho gracias to cousin's husband for driving us. Trip for two whole hours while the rest of us sleep is no easy feat you know?

We took off for Melacca yesterday noon, arriving around evening I guess. Or maybe 3pm. The city is quiet 'walk-able'. We parked the car and just walked around the many many musuems they have there. All the musuems seem to gather in one clump. I saw an UMNO musuem, Musuem of enduring beauty, even Stamps Musuem! We didn't get to visit the insides of the musuem cause it was already past 4. Most of them close around 4 i think. We had a field day taking picture around the outside exhibits though. My little nephew was happy to see trains and airplanes :)

We also climbed up some stairs to a Church on a hill. The view up there was spectacular. Located around some forts I think. It's pretty amazing, the stuff there is old and simple, but pretty cool to me. There were some tombstones of Portugese and Dutch nationals in the dilapidated place. Also a short history on a tablet showed that Francis Xavier's body was placed there for some time before being moved out and cremated. Ah, I can't forget the singing artistes inside the place. 'Dong Li Jiao Che' as my cuz calls them Haha. After Dong Li Huo Che. They're two long haired guys singing Beyond's Hai Kuo Tian Kong LOL. And pretty good at it too, considering that they're Malay nationals.

We had seafood for dinner that night. Pretty fun. Also, took a trip to the Eye on Malacca. A ferris wheel. Enjoyable certainly. But there's not much to see up there, the sights from Taiwan's ferris wheel was much more breathtaking. But I thank heavens for the 50% off the tickets we Malaysians get :) RM 10 for one ride. For us.

We went out to A'Famosa resort's water park this afternoon. After a typical Malaysian breakfast at a local hawker centre :) No matter where you go in Malaysia, it's always easy to find a hawker centre.

It's my first time visitng a water park. And it's very fun! Some of the rides were closed though. I had fun sliding down tubes of water around the park. And that pool with waves. Very refreshing considering its 33 degrees this afternoon. I do have some pictures. But too lazy to upload now lah, feels like my bones are breaking.

Malacca's structures are very interesting. Quite different from that of Johor. The place reminds me of Brunei, infact. The designs of buildings are often a mix of Malay and Chinese culture. The nyonya culture? The houses are quite Malay-ish if you ask me. Some buildings look more European, possibly from some country's takeover from a long time ago. I think the buildings are very pretty.

Oh, the streets are very clean, compared to Johor haha. There should be a lot of places that we can go. But this time, we're there mainly for the water park ^^ Next time, probably, I will visit the musuems and shopping centres of Melacca. :)
