End of journey

Yeap, back in Brunei.

The mosquitoes in my house are driving me crazy.
Atm, i am looking at my unfinished work and making ugly owl faces
Nope, did not go to office and work today, feeling super tired

But at least i am using the thinking machine at home right?

The unpacking process hasn't even been completed
But i can see my mom and my sis are happy with the apparel load i lugged back home

Let's see.

I had super fun in Singapore and Taiwan.
Loads of pictures taken too
Some in my phone, but i can't bear to dig through my luggage and look for the cable
Don't worry, it's not lost, just 'misplaced but i know where it is'

Reading Chyi and Oui's blog should give ppl a general idea of what i did
Well, hell, i did everything with them la of course.

My thoughts:

On Singapore

I definitely felt like a suaku coming out of kampong the moment i landed in Singapore.
It's been a long long time since i went to Singapore, so i quite forgot what it's all about.
I got the hang of it though, eventually haha

The place was so colorful, with so many stuff going on
Advertisements? U see them everywhere, and the small TVs on buses kept playing some travel show to Taiwan haha

Xmas sale there is crazy, everyone was everywhere buying Xmas gifts.
I saw this lady carrying some humongous toy gift boxes (3 of them maybe) which should be containing robots or something, and making her way in one of the MRT stations. Wooo

Singapore is definitely vibrant. And i had my share of shopping, K-ing and random people-squeezing on that land haha

On Taiwan

I didn't expect much at Taiwan airport. But i must say that even Miri Airport looks better than Taiwan Airport? haha The place should be pretty huge, though we didn't stick around to explore.

We needed to adapt to the Taiwan language - Chinese. So the place got us learning *new Taiwanese terms for 'bus' 'power' 'maple syrup' and the like haha. We were lucky we had some Chinese learning background, else we won't be able to catch what some of the Taiwan people are gibbering about. By the end of our trip, we even learned to apologise their way! 'Bu Hao Yi Si'!

Maybe because we stayed in a place that is that hotspot for young Taiwanese, so the image i first get of Taiwan is that the place really has pretty people. The girls and the guys alike, all dressed like they just came out of a magazine haha. Oh and the place was damn cold so people were in thick fashionable jackets. To them, we must hav looked silly in our thin jackets and T-shirts. So obvs we are tourists man...

Food was definitely great, and the range of variety is absolutely astounding.
I had my share of not-so-good-tasting food though... ugh...

Loves shopping in the night markets. These markets are really everywhere!
And i have to applaud the creativity of these Taiwanese in their entrepreneurial set-ups. Selling pins and brooches on an umbrella? Pay money for the pins and you get the backing nut thingy.. Hurrah! Pre recording hollering messages and play it repeatedly outside your shop? Hurrah! Getting girls to wear skimpy tops and shorts then parade around? Hurrah! Get someone to stand in the middle of the street and hold a sign pointing people to your shop? Hurrah! Flyers! Everywhere! Endorsements of celebrities for your juice boxes~

At one point, i was asking Chyi which celebrity we should drink today while we were in 7-Eleven! Lee hom? Fahrenheit? Mike He? Wa li lei....

Actually, Taiwan reminds me of Malaysia. But Taiwan is different in a way. The atmosphere and the people there are surely different.

The Taiwanese we met are friendly, and very helpful e.g. pointing us in the correct direction. We had this guy from a shop selling lamb delicacy (不打烊羊肉店) running out from his warm shop and into the cold winds just so he could point us in the direction of Wu Fen Pu.

Also, i can't forget some of the people who see us wearing thin jackets as an absolute no-no and kept insisting we should wear more layers. The taukeh-niu of that shop selling Doraemon food even wanted to lend us her thick jacket!

The sights were also beautiful. Although everything is kinda grey haha. I still liked the feeling Taiwan gave me. Not bad. Maybe 10 years from now i'd visit there again haha.

Few more weeks till i get away to another country again hahaha
Nope, i'm not a jetsetter, or flyer, or border-jumping freak.

Chinese New year is coming soon!
